Art inspired by aerial photography on SIX Portal

Artist Nyree Reynolds draws inspiration from maps and aerial photography available through the Land and Property Management Authority's SIX Portal.

As a descendant of the Gamilaraay Language Group, the artist enojys telling stories through her art. Nyree has a particular love of mapping from her time at the Department of Lands, where she worked in the 1960's. Nyree worked in the General Drafting Branch at the Department of Lands in Bridge Street where she would paint the parish maps in their official colours and update them by hand painting.

Nyree says, "My love of mapping combined with my love of painting is now being utilised to create new ways of telling the stories of the Original Custodians of this Land."
